Our story: Josh and Abby D'Alessio

We met working in homeless services, mental health, and addiction. We have given 15 years to that work. Josh came in with a master's in healthcare administration focused on homeless health, a substance use counseling background, and a BS in psychology, trying to use best practices to improve population health outcomes.

None of that was a match for what Abby brought through Christ. She built a sense of community and encouraged people's worth in prayer. She brought faith and a personal relationship with the Lord to the equation, and love went further than the programs and the metrics.

Today, Josh and Abby walk with people outside the system the way it should be: neighbor helping neighbor, letting Jesus guide the way. Only Jesus saves, but their mission is to love on the people put in their path. Josh and Abby don't only love on people experiencing homelessness or struggling with mental health or substance use. They show up for anyone God places before them.

“Too often good conversations about Jesus end, and as we part for the day people are left with a verse, maybe a Bible. We needed something to leave with them to help strengthen their relationship with Jesus and their understanding of the Word. After the Verse is that tool: understand Scripture more deeply and know Jesus more closely.”
